What to Expect

Calvary Kids partners with parents in the spiritual development of their children as they encourage and inspire them to pursue life in Christ. They invest in children from nursery to sixth grade through Bible teaching, creative activities, and relationship-building.

Volunteer Roles

Nursery

Nursery Caregiver
Nurture, know, and disciple infants and toddlers. Engage children in suggested learning activities while caring for their physical and emotional needs. Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11, or Wednesday night.

Nursery Checkpoint
The first and last smiling face a family sees. Warmly welcome children, families, and volunteers to the secure Nursery hallway. Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11, or Wednesday night.

Nursery Room Coordinator
Lovingly oversee and shepherd a group of Nursery team members. Encourage, communicate with, and help to train your team. Serve Sunday AM-weekly, at the beginning of the 9:30 and 11:00 hours, and some weekday responsibilities from home.

Nursery Team Leader
Thoughtful and quick decision-makers manage the Nursery suite on a Sunday morning. Maintain safety ratios, encourage parents & volunteers, and welcome guests. Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11.

Laundry Team Member
Ensure a healthy environment for the children by washing linens. Use either the church-provided washer and dryer or your own. Commitment: your own time. Share this role with others on assigned weeks.

Cleaning Team Member
Give an extra cleaning to Nursery toys and equipment so that our children may enjoy a healthy environment in which to learn of God’s love and care. Serve the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, 9:00 - 10:30.

Early Childhood

Coordinator
Oversee and shepherd team members of one age group, one ministry hour. Serve Sunday AM-weekly, at the beginning of the 9:30 or 11:00 hour, and some weekday responsibilities from home.

Teacher
Study and teach Bible lessons in an age-appropriate manner. Coordinate teaching activities in the classroom during the hour. (All lessons and materials are prepared for you.) Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11, or Wednesday night.

Assistant
Assist the teacher in engaging children in the Learning Centers and Bible stories. Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11, or Wednesday night.

Teen Helper
Engage with the children through play, reading books, and assisting the teacher with Learning Centers. Serve twice a month. Sunday at 8, 9:30, or 11, or Wednesday night.

Elementary

Coordinator
Oversee and shepherd team members of one age group on Sunday, one ministry hour, 9:30 or 11:00.

Assistant Coordinator
Assist the Sunday School Coordinator in a variety of tasks to ensure that we provide a welcoming and connecting environment for each child and team member. Sundays at the 9:30 or 11:00 hour.

Small Group Leader
Shepherd and disciple a consistent group of children in a Sunday School classroom following the main Bible lesson. All small group materials are provided for you. Serve twice a month. Sundays at the 9:30 or 11:00 hour.

Bible Teacher
Study and teach the provided Bible lesson in an engaging manner so that children are inspired to know, love, and obey God. Serve Sundays at 9:30 or 11 or on Wednesday nights.

Teacher Assistant
In Discover Clubs, assist the teacher in engaging the children in the lesson and activities. Serve Wednesday nights, weekly, from September - April.

Read Around The World Data Coordinator
Keep track of the points each child earns by reading missionary biographies as well as creating and attaching reading tags to the Wall of Fame in the library hallway. Create your own schedule.
