Our DC Trip saw 29 High School students and 8 leaders head down to our nation's capital for a week of ministry. We stayed at a Salvation Army in the Columbia Heights neighborhood and served alongside several local organizations. They participated in Kids clubs, homeless outreach, food kitchens, veterans hospitals, drug rehabilitation centers, and encouraged first responders. Our students served in so many different ways and were challenged to see how we can bring God’s hope and restoration to a broken world. We are so thankful for all that God did in and through our team this last week!

"During this week in DC, I saw God work in so many amazing ways through everyone who took part in the trip. From seeing the joy and hope in the faces of the kids who we worked with, to preparing food for the homeless, to doing work projects around the church, I saw the impact that we were having on the community. I was able to serve alongside and get to know so many new people, and I am so thankful for this opportunity to go and make a difference serving the Lord in DC!"

"For me, the DC trip really helped me become more reliant on God and trust in Him more. I saw that God was working in my life and that He could use me to help others. I was really impacted when a random guy sat down next to us while we were singing at the Capitol Building. That showed me that people everywhere need Jesus and that it is us, as Christians [to have a] responsibility to tell them that. God showed me on his trip how blessed I was and that just by telling people about God I could truly change their life forever and ultimately follow God’s call for me."

"I really liked going to the DC food kitchen and help clean boxes because I got to see how much the guy that we were working for appreciated us helping him. I thought it was a great bonding experience for me and a couple of the guys on the trip."

"My favorite part of the trip was bonding with all the wonderful people that had the opportunity to come on the DC trip. It was amazing meeting new people and building relationships. I really enjoyed serving at Thrive DC because I had the opportunity to talk to people and listen to their stories. I was encouraged by all the people that I got to meet and was blessed by their presence. I saw God at work in the EM team leaders. They were truly amazing people and I’m so glad I got to meet them."
