F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is a ministry of Calvary seeking to share the love of Christ and teach English with excellence to internationals living in our area.
Our trained volunteers facilitate language learning in restaurants, homes, health clubs, retirement communities, in the church...wherever God leads to partner believers with English learners from around the world.

A Lesson from Boaz...
In the book of Ruth, God extended His grace to a vulnerable outsider and her mother-in-law through the kindness of Boaz.
Though the times and contexts have changed, the struggles and challenges remain the same.
Like Boaz, believers have an open door to reach unique individuals from varied background experiences and educations, dealing with assorted life circumstances.
English is the key to adapting to life in America. By helping internationals learn how to communicate and navigate through American life, we can build relationships and open a door to the Gospel.
BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TEACH ENGLISH!
Many of our current volunteers had never taught before, but we provided the training. We have an instructor who has over 20 years of experience in ESL and she provides six hours of preliminary training for volunteers with supplementary training throughout the year.
Most of our volunteers dedicate 1-1/2 hours per week to meet with their international friends. We also ask that volunteers agree to participate in any meetings or training sessons sponsored by FRIENDS.
WHAT CAN I DO?
Besides teachers, we also look for volunteers who can serve in the following capacities:
Bible study teacher
In the FRIENDS Ministry, we can use your skills and giftings. Call to see where you can fit!
