We are highly committed to developing and sending missionaries from our own membership. While we are eager to partner with other churches in our region to help send their own missionaries, we believe God's call upon us is to send our own people - and not just our money.
For that reason we regularly challenge young and old alike in our church to consider missionary service as God's possible calling upon their lives. We want to help you find the place of service God has prepared for you.
And that is what CrossTraining is all about. To find out more about how we may assist you in considering vocational missionary service, please contact Terri Sherman.
Description of CrossTraining:
CrossTraining is composed of three main stages:
1. Assessment & Training - We take a look at your gifts, strengths and areas for continued growth. Plans are devised that assist you in the pursuit of additional ministry experience or training that will confirm your preparedness for cross-cultural ministry.
2. Exploration - We guide you in the exploration of possible ministry roles in which you could serve, consistent with the church's overall philosophy and strategic priorities in global ministries. This involves taking a look at specific mission agencies, countries of service, and people groups which you might serve. You'll end up knowing where you'll serve in the world and with whom.
3. Team Building - We concentrate on the development of the support team that will help launch you into effective cross-cultural service - people who will pray, give and support you in other practical ways. You'll also engage in training that is specific to the ministry and location in which you will serve.
